The Wise Men Find the Child - Santa Tells the Story

Ho ho ho! So the wise men left King Herod's palace, with his sly little smile still hanging in the air behind them, and they set off once more to finish their long journey. And the moment they stepped outside — there it was again. That glorious star, shining ahead of them in the sky.

And the Good Book tells us something rather sweet here. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. After all those weary miles, after that uneasy meeting with a nervous king, that faithful star was still there, still leading the way. Wouldn't you be overjoyed too?

The star went ahead of them until it stopped — right over the place where the child was. Imagine that! After traveling across deserts and hills, after weeks and weeks of following a light in the sky, the journey finally came to its end. The star settled over one humble house in one little town, as if to say, "Here. This is the place. You've made it."

The wise men went inside, and there they saw the child with Mary, His mother.

Now here's the part that I think is just marvelous. These were grand, important, learned men. Scholars and nobles, the sort who were used to bowing to kings in golden palaces. And yet, when they laid eyes on this small child in this ordinary home, they bowed down. They knelt. They worshiped Him.

No fancy palace was required. No golden throne. No royal guards or velvet curtains. The wise men had crossed half the world expecting to find a King — and they found Him in the most ordinary of settings, and they recognized Him anyway. Their hearts knew what their eyes might have doubted. This child, humble as His surroundings were, was exactly who the star had promised.

And then they opened their treasures.

I'll tell you all about those famous gifts in just a moment — gold, frankincense, and myrrh — because they're some of the most curious presents ever given, and there's real meaning packed inside each one. But for now, I just want you to picture the scene.

Picture these dignified travelers, kneeling on the floor of a simple home, laying out treasures fit for an emperor before a little child. Picture the joy on their faces after such a long and uncertain journey. Picture Mary, watching it all unfold, surely tucking yet another wonder away in her heart.

The wise men came looking for something extraordinary, my friends. And they were humble enough to find it in something that looked, on the outside, entirely ordinary. That's wisdom — real wisdom. Not just being clever, but being humble enough to kneel when you finally find the truth.

Old Santa travels far and wide too, you know. But I've learned the same lesson these wise men learned. The most precious things in this world are very often found in the plainest, humblest places. You just have to have eyes willing to see them.

Merry Christmas, everyone! Ho ho ho! https://santaclaus.top/the-wise-men-find-the-child/
